The Wildlife Storyteller Mentorship

Transform from 'lucky shot' photographer to confident wildlife storyteller in 12 weeks

Without spending years learning alone or staying stuck taking “documentary snapshots”—through personalized 1:1 mentorship that builds your confidence while developing both technical mastery and YOUR unique creative voice.

Does this sound familiar?

❌ “My photos are technically correct but boring, repetitive and flat – they don’t tell a story”

❌ “Something is missing in my composition but I can’t figure out what it is”

❌ “I struggle with camera settings in tricky conditions – my images aren’t consistently sharp”
❌ “I spend hours editing and never know when to stop or if I’m making it better”
❌ “I don’t know where to go to find wildlife near my home”
❌ “I’m overly critical of my work and can’t recognize what’s actually working”
❌ “I compare myself to others and wonder if I’m talented enough”
❌ “I don’t know if I’m actually improving or repeating the same mistakes”

You’re not alone. These are the exact struggles of photographers who found their breakthrough through this mentorship.

Who this is for:

BEGINNERS

You want to start wildlife photography the right way from day one – mastering your camera and developing the core skills of a successful wildlife photographer – without wasting time with conflicting advice online.

PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO KNOW BASICS

You know the basics but feel stuck taking the same repetitive photos. Something is missing in your photos but you can’t identify what. You want to break through to the next level with better composition, editing, storytelling, and creative skills.

EXPERIENCED PHOTOGRAPHERS

You have solid technical skills but want to develop your unique style and creative voice. Your images are good, but you want them to be recognizably “yours”—not just technically proficient copies of what everyone else is doing. You’re ready to refine your artistic vision.

ANYONE FEELING OVERWHELMED

You work full-time and barely have time to shoot, let alone learn. You need efficient, high-impact guidance that fits your busy schedule without feeling like another overwhelming commitment.

In 12 weeks you will:

Build unshakeable confidence in your creative vision

Trust your decisions, recognize your strengths, stop comparing yourself to others

Master composition and storytelling

Capture personality and emotion, not just appearance to create images that tell stories

Nail camera settings for any wildlife scenario

Nail focus, exposure, and settings under pressure – even in challenging light and fast-moving situations

Develop systematic editing workflow

No more aimless hours moving sliders – know when a photo is “done” and matching your vision

Discover and develop your unique photography style

Create images with a distinctive voice that’s recognizably yours – not copies of what everyone else is doing

Understand your patterns and get clear direction

See what’s working in YOUR photos that you can’t spot alone, and know exactly what to work on next

REAL TRANSFORMATIONS OF WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHERS LIKE YOU

Giorgia

@theeiderway

This mentorship has been incredibly insightful and enriching – simply put, one of the most valuable experiences ever since I started doing photography. If I could go back and choose to sign up again, I know I’d do it in a blink of an eye.

👎 BEFORE:

Felt overwhelmed and stuck. Confidence was very low, especially with editing, which led to constant self-doubt and fear of not getting any good images — to the point of avoiding taking photos altogether.

👍 AFTER:

Discovered her distinctive style

Developed a clear, logical editing process, applying steps based on each individual photo

Gained a deeper understanding of composition, both in the field and during image selection

Learned to recognize value in images she previously overlooked

Regained trust in her abilities and enjoyment of photography

@wandering_shetland

Chiara was very attentive to my specific needs and how I wanted to progress with my photography. The 1:1 mentoring has improved all aspects of my photography including confidence, composition, editing, storytelling and much more.

👎 BEFORE:

Felt creatively stuck, producing repetitive work and following trends driven by social media. Lacked confidence in editing, composition, and storytelling, and felt unsure whether her photography had a meaningful narrative voice.

👍 AFTER:

✔ Significantly improved storytelling ability

✔ Makes stronger compositional and editing choices

✔ Feels confident in her creative voice and photographic direction

Launched a wildlife storytelling blog

Submitted her work to a photography competition for the first time

Tess

@tessa_mercieca_photography

I’ve learned how to tell stories with my images instead of just taking photos. The mentorship opened up creative possibilities I didn’t know existed, and it completely changed how I approach wildlife photography.

👎 BEFORE:

Coming from other photography genres, she felt wildlife images lacked impact. Her photos didn’t fully use the potential of the situations she was given, and she struggled to achieve the “wow factor” she felt was missing from her work.

👍 AFTER:

Learnt storytelling and artistic possibilities

✔ Created environmental/atmospheric bird images (not just over-cropped portraits)

✔ Planned year-long conservation photography project

✔ Inspired others to try bird photography after seeing her work

What makes this different

For many photographers, this is their first time getting expert feedback on THEIR work.

Most have watched tutorials, taken courses, learned alone – but never had expert eyes on THEIR specific photos. This isn’t a course with generic advice. Every photo review, assignment, and session is designed around YOUR photos and YOUR goals.

What courses and tutorials can’t provide:

    • Analysis of YOUR photos (not generic examples)
    • Identification of YOUR specific patterns you can’t see alone
    • Personalized workflow audit (I watch and give advice about YOUR process)
    • Flexible approach (we cover what YOU need most, when you need it)
I have never had constructive feedback regarding my photography before. This significantly helped me to make better choices with my own work.

What Photographers say

Reviews from previous mentorship clients.

Working with Chiara has helped me to take my passion for wildlife photography to a new level. Not only have I improved technically and practically, but I have also developed important knowledge of how to move with due caution in natural environments, respect for wildlife and the importance of its conservation. Chiara is a qualified and very experienced teacher. Her explanations and feedback are always precise and clear, which made my journey with her particularly interesting. She was always helpful and attentive to my questions and curiosity, helping me improve lesson after lesson. Her feedback on my photographs helped me a lot to improve even the most mediocre shots and to train myself how to improve in the future.

I really loved the sessions with Chiara. She was always attentive, making the sessions about my questions and needs. Before we started, I had almost given up on bird photography, but Chiara's mentorship rekindled my enthusiasm. I had plenty to learn and practise between our sessions, which was a challenge, but perfectly pitched so as not to make it too difficult me. I've been a birder for several years; however, this short course indeed taught me to see birds with a new eye (plus I learned a lot more about what my camera is actually capable of). I would totally recommend Chiara's mentorship - her skills as a photographer as well as her kind and thoughtful way of interacting with me made these sessions an absolute joy!

In 3 sessions, Chiara increased my mastery of the technical elements of photography (camera as a tool, editing software, etc.) to enable me to create more beautiful, higher quality images. Her supportive approach created a safe learning environment which consisted of the one on one sessions, session feedback and follow up, as well as on-going photo feedback online. She has opened my eyes to so much possibility that I'm going to sign up for more sessions! Gifting myself her mentorship program was one of my highlights of the year!

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have some doubts?

How does it work?

This is a 1:1 Mentorship program, consisting of 3 1-hour calls and continuous support over a period of 12 weeks (+4 weeks extension if needed).

After you apply, your application will be reviewed and if selected you will be contacted within 48 hours to discuss details and set up our first session.

How can I pay?

If you’re selected after the application, I will reach out via email to share all the details. You can pay in full or choosing a payment plan. Payment can be done via Bank transfer or Paypal.

I'm a complete beginner - is this too advanced for me?

Not at all! The entire mentorship adapts to YOUR level. If you’re a beginner, we focus on building strong foundations. Session 1 identifies your starting point and we build from there with no jargon or assumptions. The beauty of 1:1 is it meets you exactly where you are.

I'm already experienced - will I still benefit?

Absolutely! Experienced photographers often benefit most because we dive straight into creative development—no time spent on basics. We focus on storytelling, composition mastery, artistic vision and project development. Style Discovery helps you develop your unique voice. Editing workflow gets optimized for YOUR process. Your portfolio gets reviewed at expert level.

I work weird hours - how flexible is the scheduling?

I work with clients across multiple time zones and schedules:

  • Flexible scheduling – we find times that work for both of us
  • Sessions can be rescheduled if work conflicts arise
  • Recordings provided so you can review anytime
  • Assignments are self-paced between our calls

Your photography growth shouldn’t be limited by your work schedule!

What if I can't keep up with the 12-week timeline?

No problem! You get an additional 4-week buffer to complete the program at your own pace if life gets busy. I understand that wildlife photography is a hobby for most people, not a full-time job. The program duration has been established to maximise impact.

How is this program different from free tutorials online?

Unlike scattered free tutorials, this program provides a personalised and structured system designed specifically for wildlife photographers

Here’s the benefit of a mentorship program:

  • Completely personalized to your specific challenges
  • Direct coaching with immediate feedback
  • Your photos analyzed – not just generic examples
  • Accountability partner to ensure you actually improve
  • Flexible pacing adapted to your learning style

Think of it as the difference between a fitness video vs. having a personal trainer who knows your goals, watches your form, and adjusts the program for you.

What if my gear is basic and I have only a short lens - do I need better gear?

Absolutely not! I’ll teach you to maximize what you already have. Great photos come from technique and vision, not expensive equipment. Many of my students create stunning images with basic gear. Then if you’re ready for upgrade gear, I’ll also be able to offer personalised recommendations.

How much time do I need to commit each week?

The program is designed for busy people. Over 12 weeks, we will have three 1-h sessions. Every 2 weeks you will also receive assignments that will be personalised based on your time availability and goals. Ideally you should plan to spend 1 to 3 hours for them every 2 weeks. Everything is designed for maximum impact with realistic time commitments.

What if I don't see improvement? Is there a guarantee?

Absolutely! I offer a dual guarantee:

Option 1: If you don’t see clear improvement within 6 weeks, I’ll add an extra session at no charge.

Option 2: If you’re not satisfied, I’ll provide a full refund. You’ll just need to fill a short form so I can understand what didn’t work.

Your success is my priority, and I stand behind the transformation this mentorship provides.

I have some questions. Can I contact someone?

Of course, please send an email to  chiarataliaphoto@gmail.com and I will be happy to answer. Or even better you can book a totally free 20-minute call by clicking here: https://calendly.com/chiaratalia/coachingconsult

What if English isn't my first language?

Good news: most of my students are non-native English speakers (and I’m also not)! My mother tongue is italian, I also understand Portuguese, French, and Spanish – so I can meet you where you are.

Why it works:

Visual Communication: Photo feedback uses visual markup (circles, arrows, annotations). Much of our communication is looking at images together. Screen recordings show rather than just tell.

Flexible Pacing: 1:1 sessions allow you to ask for clarification anytime. I can adjust speaking speed, repeat, or rephrase explanations. Chat support gives you time to translate or look up words.

Written Support: Session recap documents provide written reference you can translate at your own pace. Photo feedback is both written and visual. Resources can be translated with tools.

Your English needs to be: Conversational (can express questions and understand responses) – NOT perfect or academic-level. Written English helpful for chat support.

If concerned: Mention it in your application or discovery call. We can assess if your level is sufficient and provide additional support if needed.

I'm worried I won't have enough photos to submit for review.

Good news: Archive photos are totally fine! You don’t need to shoot new images constantly.

We review 15 photos over 12-16 weeks (~1 per week average), but you can submit in batches whenever you have them. Old photos from your archive work perfectly—in fact, reviewing older work often reveals patterns you never noticed.

If you can’t shoot for a period (weather, life, seasonal availability), we  work with your existing photos. Photo reviews are a teaching tool, not performance evaluation 🙂
